Base getting new storm shelters
Michael Layton, a worker with Survive-A-Storm Shelters, grinds down welding marks in the new storm shelter currently being installed directly north of the Tinker Youth Center. Four 10x40 units, which have been welded together and reinforced into the ground, are rated to survive F5 winds. The shelter will hold approximately 390 people and will be ready for emergency use for Oklahoma’s unpredictable spring weather. (Air Force photo by Kelly White/Released)
