Forging strong bonds

Deral Hunter monitors an automated machine that is welding a third stage turbine rotor air seal for a TF-33. The automated welding shop in Bldg. 3001 has eight out of the 10 Liburdi Automation machines on base. Tinker is the only Air Force base with an automated welding shop. The welders who work there have to go through a one-year formalized training program to be certified on the equipment. (Air Force photo by Kelly White/Released)
