Under construction

Near Bldg. 3001, Substation 6 is replacing Substation 2. The project is being constructed by OG&E, which owns the exterior electrical distribution system. The substation is in accordance with new standards and it will provide extra capability and eliminate electrical problems. The $6 million deal is part of the Air Force Electrical Privatization Project. All the substations will be brought up to standards. With a looped distribution system, power can be quickly restored and it can be done remotely. (Air Force photo by Kelly White/Released)
