Honoring their memory

Navy Capt. Ed McCabe, deputy commander of Strategic Communications Wing ONE and Task Force 124, speaks to a crowd of veterans during a Memorial Day program May 30 at Veterans Memorial Park at the state capitol. “On a day when we officially honor the memory of those who have gone before us, those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice, we look to the words of President John F. Kennedy, ‘A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces but also by the men it honors, the men it remembers,’” he said. “As Americans, may we forever commit to revealing our nation as one that holds true the memory and full measure of sacrifice our nation’s heroic men and women have given for freedom for us all.” Tinker Chaplain (Capt.) Bill Mesaeh Jr. also participated in the program. (Air Force photo by April McDonald/Released)
