John Lee, foreground, with the 548th Propulsion Maintenance Squadron, is working with Tinker’s Environmental Office to track fire ants on base. Tom Miller, background, a geographic information systems analyst with Colorado State University, uses GPS to map the fire ants’ mounds around the parking lot of the Child Development Center South. The ants were most likely brought onto base in plant materials and have carved their trail systems thoroughly around the lot. (Air Force photo by Kelly White)
