The 72nd Security Forces Squadron welcomed Lt. Col. Tyrell Mayfield as their new commander during their change of command ceremony at the Base Theater July 12. 72nd Mission Support Group Commander Col. Mark Vitantonio presided over the ceremony and presented outgoing commander Lt. Col. Keith Quick with the Meritorious Service Medal. Mayfield will oversee the integrated defense for the Air Force's largest Air Logistics Complex, five wings, and 45 associate units and will lead over 460 personnel and direct day-to-day force protection, law enforcement and security operations, securing $75B in protection level 1-4 resources and supporting 94,000 military and civilians.
