Program works on first impressions

Dahlvang and Mees were taking part in Tinker Air Force Base’s First Term Airmen Center special tour through a partnership with the base and the OKC Convention and Visitors Bureau which brings the military and civilian communities closer together. The group of Airmen spend part of a day downtown where they ride the new OKC Streetcar, for free, while learning about important landmarks, attractions and even where free parking is located. The downtown tour has quickly become a welcome capstone to the FTAC curriculum and, over time, should help integrate the military members with the community faster and smoother.
