One of the often overlooked but valuable missions of the Air Force is not visible on the battlefield or in the rooms where leaders make critical decisions. Instead, intellectual property, in the form of patents, is an intangible product of the work of scientists and engineers that has unseen benefits throughout the Air Force Materiel Command and the entire Department of Defense.
