OC-ALC change of command set for Wednesday Published May 22, 2007 By Darren D. Heusel Tinker Public Affairs Tinker Public Affairs -- Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center Director Robert J. Conner will put the finishing touches on a storied career during a change of command ceremony set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bldg. 3001, Dock 5 ½. Replacing Mr. Conner will be Maj. Gen. Loren M. Reno, who is currently serving as vice director for the Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Va. Gen. Bruce Carlson, Air Force Materiel Command commander, will officiate the ceremony. Mr. Conner, a member of the senior executive service who will be retiring after 32 years of government service, made history in August 2005 when he became the first-ever civilian director of the largest air logistics center in the Air Force. Prior to that, Mr. Conner served as executive director for AFMC at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, from August 2004 to August 2005. Before becoming the executive director at AFMC, Mr. Conner served as the OC-ALC executive director at Tinker AFB from June 2000 to August 2004. Prior to becoming the DLA vice director, Gen. Reno served as the Director of Logistics, Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB, Ill., from June 2002 to October 2005. Before that, Gen. Reno served as the OC-ALC vice commander at Tinker AFB from October 2000 to June 2002. Tinker officials are expecting a large crowd for the change of command ceremony. In light of this, a free round-trip shuttle service will be offered from the Tinker Club to Bldg. 3001 beginning at 7:45 a.m.
