Sunday 11:30 a.m. EDT to 6 p.m. EDT
A new interactive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics area will be introduced at this year's Star Spangled Salute Air and Space Show.
Located in Bldg. 3105 (see map here), STEM City will include hands-on exhibits from industry and education to encourage students and educate parents on STEM opportunities.
Attendees of all ages can interact with various types of robots and drones, fly aircraft simulators or build an airplane with a Rigamajig, which has been described as "a Tinker toy on steroids." There will also be 3D printing and robotics demonstrations.
STEM City will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
The Hangar appeals to the tech-tinkerer, mechanically-inclined individual. With a focus on maintainer careers such as Aircraft
Structural Maintenance, more commonly known as Air Force Crew Chiefs, and Cockpit Avionics, the tour will give visitors a
behind the scenes look at technology and structures used by Airmen every day.

Parking Map
Parking at the TAC Plant (old GM plant) is the fastest and best place to park. However, there is limited FREE parking on base! All on-base parking guests must enter either the Hruskocy gate off I-40 just west of Douglas Blvd. (which can also be accessed from SE 29th street as well), OR off Douglas Blvd. (south of I-40) and enter through either the Liberator or Lancer Gates. Parking is near the big 3001 Tinker complex building or just south of the 3001 Building. Guests with strollers or wagons are encouraged to enter through any of these three gates to mitigate excessive time spent loading/unloading busses. HOWEVER, riding the Bus IS the best way to get into the air show with the LEAST amount of walking.
