Tinker remains in HPCON Charlie

Team Tinker,

Today the installation remains in HPCON Charlie, maximizing use of teleworking, alternating shifts, various types of leave and substantial social distancing to keep our members safe while balancing with real-world mission requirements.  Today, 30 March, we are adding additional measures to include the following new (temporary) gate hours:

-        Tinker Gate, Lancer Gate and Gott Gate will remain open 24/7

-        Turnbull Gate will temporarily CLOSE

-        Hruskocy Gate and Pegasus Gate will close 30 minutes earlier, new hours will be 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

-        Vance Gate and Liberator Gate will be open mornings only, new hours will be 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

The 72 ABW Communications Directorate and the Air Force are working to alleviate the telework / VPN bottlenecks we are all experiencing. Bandwidth and system capacity are being increased as fast as possible to accommodate the number of teleworkers. Users who connect to VPN should minimize their time on VPN to allow others the opportunity to access and download necessary files to complete mission objectives.

Starting today, Public Affairs will man a Straight Talk Center to field calls for all NON-medical COVID-19 concerns.  You can call Monday thru Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 405-734-2567.  We anticipate a significant volume of calls, so please be patient if the line is busy.

In addition, beginning March 31, all Military Treatment Facilities and Dental Treatment Facilities will postpone most elective surgeries, invasive procedures, and dental procedures for 60 days. These actions will enhance staff safety, prolong the supply of protective equipment, and repurpose the staff to aide in the COVID-19 response. Anyone with impacted procedures will be contacted directly.

Information on positive cases, travel movement, hours of operation, base closures and more can be found on www.tinker.af.mil/coronavirus/

REMINDER: For those who believe they may have been exposed can contact the 24 hour COVID-19 Hotline: 405-582-6297. If you have been exposed to the coronavirus, do NOT come to the base. Return home and contact your Primary Care Doctor or the hotline. To keep safe as possible, please limit any travel to just work, groceries, medical, and outdoor exercise like running, biking and calisthenics.
