TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Don’t let cyber ghosts and goblins scare you this month. October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and The Department of Air Force overall theme for this year is “Cybersecurity – Every Airman, Every Guardian – Mission Possible!”
Every October, the Air Force highlights the importance of cybersecurity, good cyber hygiene, and their importance to the Air Force and Space Force.
“Cyber awareness helps educate our employees to make our organization to be more formidable against our adversaries,” said Becca Messner, Wing Communication Office program manager. “Not only can breaches be costly to our organization monetarily wise, but they can be harmful to national security, our employees, and their privacy.”
More than 80% of all cyber breaches involves the human element, whether it be through social engineering attacks or the misuse of stolen credentials.
“We have a responsibility to those we employ and protect to keep our nation secure, our networks secure, and our employee's safety secure.” said Messner.
