It's up and ready to go.

Earlier this month, the Tinker Hazard Reporting System, a standardized hazard reporting system for the base, went online. Available to personnel with access to the Tinker network, the user-friendly Web application allows people to report and monitor hazards and repair statuses that occur on base.

"This program allows for a faster response time to identify hazards," said Emily Wolfgeher, 72nd Air Base Wing Safety Office System safety manager who was a facilitator during the hazard reporting system rapid improvement event and is a member of the database team. "We can go out and look at them quicker because they get assigned to people faster. Also, we hope for faster mitigation because the hazards' status is very visible to the public."

Prior to the standardization of the system, personnel in some organizations were reporting hazards and updating statuses within their respective organizations rather than providing them to the 72nd ABW Safety Office for validation and tracking within the base-wide system. Additionally, had they wanted to research an incident within another organization, they would have followed that organization's procedures.

Within the new system, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center organizations shall follow the same procedures and should personnel move to a new job within another OC-ALC organization, they won't have to learn a new hazard reporting system.

Since going live Oct. 1, Ms. Wolfgeher said there have been a few glitches in the system. Early on, start-up issues prevented some personnel from entering a hazard using the online system, but those problems have been resolved and the system is now fully functional.

As of Oct. 21, there were 15 hazards reported on the site and they can be viewed by selecting a specific category on the View Reports page.
