The inspection is over and the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center scored an overall rating of Satisfactory after a visit from an Air Force Materiel Command Logistics Compliance Assessment team.

"You are professionals day in and day out - you are a team. As wingmen, you watched out for one another to make sure we avoided mistakes, big and small. So, it's time to celebrate your success," said Maj. Gen. David Gillett, OC-ALC commander. "But, remember we have to celebrate and sustain our success. I have no doubt that you will continue to do just that...and to improve your performance across the board."

During the first 12 days of March, Tinker welcomed the LCAT team -- comprised of approximately 70 personnel from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and augmentees from other installations, the team examined Tinker's AFMC organizations.

"Our job is to ensure the personnel here are doing their job in a repeatable standard that's safe and in a technically competent manner," said Col. Sean Cassidy, LCAT team leader.

The team, which travels to various installations within AFMC, gave Tinker roughly seven days notice of the inspection, before arriving. They performed 550 Evaluator Proficiency Evaluations, Personnel Evaluations and Quality Verification Inspections plus thousands of other inspections, said General Gillett.

Colonel Cassidy said the length of the inspection depends on the scope of the mission. If there are 60 personnel and only one mission, the evaluation might last five days. But, at Tinker, where there are more than 12,000 people assigned to the OC-ALC, the examination took longer.

"Every unit down to the Squadron/Division level rated Satisfactory or higher. Pass rates were all above 90 percent," said Gen. Gillett.

The team examines a variety of missions across the command, from a weapons storage area at Malmstrom AFB, Mont., to an Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards, AFB, Calif.

During their stay at Tinker, the team assessed organizations' compliance with maintenance, logistics and supply-chain management policies.
