The Tinker Chapel invites one and all to attend this year's National Prayer event. Capitalizing on the success of last year's event, the chapel staff will once again hold the event as a luncheon.

The guest speaker will be U.S. Navy Chief of Chaplains Rear Adm. Robert F. Burt. Chaplain Burt is responsible for recruiting, training and equipping thousands of active duty and reserve component chaplains serving with the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Additionally, he advises the chief of Naval Operations, the commandant of the Marine Corps and the commandant of the Coast Guard on matters pertaining to the free exercise of religion for those who serve in the country's sea services. Chaplain Burt's varied experiences at sea and ashore have been vital in ensuring the men and women at the tip of the national defense spear maintain the highest standards of spiritual and emotional fitness.

The National Prayer Luncheon will be held in the Tinker Club ballroom from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9. Tickets are $5 each and must be purchased no later than close of business Feb. 3. The menu for the luncheon is the "Deli Lover's Delight," which includes a turkey sandwich on a hoagie bun, potato salad, dessert and coffee/tea service. Tickets may be purchased from participating first sergeants, unit chaplains or from the staff at the Tinker Chapel. For more information, call the chapel at 734-2111.
