If Monday night's game was a playoff match with a league championship on the line, the 32nd CCS squad sure didn't act like it. They were just having fun.

So if fun equates to blow out victories, then maybe the 32nd CCS team (5-1 overall) should make F-U-N their new banner-font motto because it works, as their 20-0 defeat of the 965th AACS shows.

The final score belies how close the game was. At least how close it was at the half.

Eric Cormier, 32nd CCS receiver, got the touchdown pass and two-point conversion toss just before half time from quarterback Ryan Velarde.

Then Janell Fletcher followed up his 32nd CCS teammates prowess when he intercepted a 965th AACS pass to close down the half.

It was just 8-0 after two quarters. Anyone's ballgame it would seem. Though in reality the eight-point difference was the closest the score would ever be.

After a scoreless third quarter, the 32nd CCS squad finally mustered their A-game offense. And the fourth quarter belonged solely to 32nd CCS as they put two more touchdowns on the board.

It was Cormier again who claimed a 10-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion attempt came up dry for the squad but it was still 14-0 with only minutes to play.

And 32nd CCS didn't give their opponents much breathing room. They closed down a stellar performance with a touchdown by Brody Wilcock to ice the win at 20-0.

Although it was an impressive offensive showing, 32nd CCS player Tyler Starkey summarized his team's strategy in one sentence.

"Offense sells tickets, but defense wins games," he said.

It's doubtful any tickets were sold for the game, but the latter part couldn't be more true.

The 32nd CCS played the 552nd MXS Wednesday in the quarterfinal game. Results were not available at press time.

The semi-final games will be played Dec. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and the championship game will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9.
