eSeminars for planning Published March 6, 2009 By Maj. Carrie Clear OC-ALC/DPD TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- Civilian employees can now access three different on-line benefit courses, helping them to better make informed benefit-related decisions. These Benefits eSeminars place the responsibility for retirement planning in the employee's hands. The courses are available through the Employee Benefits Information System and provide information on Planning for Retirement, Financial Planning and New Employee Benefit Orientation. The Planning for Retirement eSeminar includes information for employees covered under special retirement, the Thrift Savings Plan, Social Security, Insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts. The Financial Planning program talks about insurance, taxes, investment options, investment planning and estate planning; and the New Employee Benefits Orientation provides employees with an understanding of each Federal benefit program and explains how each works. By adding the Benefit eSeminars to the existing EBIS tool, employees have "one stop shopping" to view the training, access their automated retirement tools and make benefit elections. To access the eSeminars, sign in at the Air Force Portal (https://www.my.af.mil) and select EBIS under the Life & Career/Civilian Employees tab; or log on to the Air Force Personnel Center's secure link at https://w20.afpc.randolph.af.mil/AFPCSecurenet20.
