One more week for CFC: $72,000 needed to reach goal Published Nov. 8, 2007 By Kandis West Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- During the past month, Tinker Air Force Base and the central Oklahoma military community has buzzed with generosity and contributions to this year's Combined Federal Campaign. With just one week left, the central Oklahoma military community is $72,000 short of the $1.65 million goal. Base officials encourage Team Tinker to kick off the holiday season of giving by contributing to the campaign. "With time running out to donate to this years CFC campaign, there is no better time to donate to your favorite charity knowing your contribution will help a family or community in need," said Col. Tracy Tynan, the CFC Central Oklahoma military community lead. Contributions to the campaign serve local, state, nationwide or international charities. "With more than 1,800 charities, there is a full range from which to choose," said Colonel Tynan. The CFC is a national and international fundraiser, which collectively has more than 300 programs raising money between Sept.1 and Dec. 15 each year. Military members and civilian personnel can contribute to the fund by payroll deduction, check or cash donation. The fundraiser ends next Friday. The campaign team has planned a CFC Victory Celebration from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Tinker Club. Colonel Tynan said last year the greater Oklahoma military communities exceeded the CFC goal and he expects the goal to be met again this year.
