Welcome to the heat of another Oklahoma summer!

We had our first Military Retiree Day planning meeting and things are well underway to make this special day enjoyable and informative. We will host the day at the Tinker Club on Nov. 3. We will again provide a limited food bar in the early morning and discount tickets will be available to locations on Tinker Air Force Base for lunch. If you would like periodic reminders about what will happen on Retiree Day, much more detailed than space allows in this article, send your email address to lorraine.caddy@us.af.mil. This day is open to any and all members of retiree families. The email list is monitored and not shared with anyone else. We will begin poster advertising around early September but if you belong to any military organizations, begin advertising the day now with your folks.

The ID/DEERS section has gone to an all appointment system. If you just walk in – you will be given the next appointment which may or may not be on the day you arrive. You can schedule appointments by calling 739-7646 or online at: https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil/appointments/default.aspx. The ID/DEERS office is located in Bldg. 1, Door 3 or 4.

Everyone is invited to attend our monthly luncheons at the Club. The next one will be Aug. 2. Arrive at 11 a.m. if you want to purchase lunch, the meetings begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. Our wing and group commanders and their staff attend, along with many representatives from the Base Exchange, the clinic, Tri-Care/Humana, Force Support Squadron, Veterans Affairs, ID/DEERS and more.

Our office, as well as other offices on Tinker AFB, will be closed Aug. 31 and Sept. 3 for the Labor Day holiday. Have a wonderful summer and stay safe.

We hope to see you all in November for Military Retiree Day!
