Seems golf season is over with ... or is it? Don't put up the clubs just because Jack Frost is out nipping at your nose. Oklahoma is blessed with ever changing weather pattern that allows for golfing in the winter, and if they can golf in Chicago in 25 degree weather, Tinker can too. Sure, more clothing layers are recommended, but aside from a little extra padding, the game remains the same. Most body heat is lost through the hands and head, so wear your gloves and a hat.

Those who have not golfed Tinker's course in a while will be pleasantly surprised by all the progress that has been made including upgrading the greens and bunkers and removing dead or damaged trees and brush. The grass isn't green in fall and winter, but don't let that stop the fun.

Golfers are invited to consider the Annual Green Fee card as a way to save on their favorite sport. Twenty round golf and cart punch cards are also available for the seasonal golfer. The contract for annual green fee begins April 1.

A lot of people don't know that they can purchase an annual green fee and pay for it on a monthly basis through their credit card. By paying monthly, golfers can still enjoy the savings that the annual fee provides but still have the peace of mind that they aren't paying one large lump sum and depleting the bank account. Tinker Golf Course is on its way back to greatness with all of the improvements being made.

Can't commit to an annual green fee? Give the perfect "Gift Fore Golfers" gift card this holiday season. Purchase four rounds of nine-hole golf with cart and get the fifth round with cart free. You'll also get 10 percent off purchases in the pro shop. The cost for the card is just $40 and it fits nicely in a card or stocking. Double the deal for $80 with eight paid rounds of nine-hole golf with cart and get two free rounds with cart, and 20 percent off pro shop purchases. The cards are good through March 31, 2012.

There will be a holiday envelope sale Wednesdays in December. Come in on Dec. 7, 14 and 21 and choose an envelope good for 5 to 50 percent off in-stock items, based on the percentage listed in the envelope chosen. Golfers on the ol' holiday shopping list will be thrilled to get new golf stuff in their stocking or under the tree.

Earlybird tournament sign-ups for 2012 are under way. Sign up a group or squadron for tournaments now through February along with a $100 deposit and the group receives 10 percent off their green fees the day of the tournament.

Up to trying something new? There will be a Polar Bear tournament and football event coming up Jan. 15. This is one of the many new and exciting things officials are trying to boost interest and play at Tinker Golf Course. Golfers are invited to put on a few extra layers and come out for a chilling tournament mixed with the NFL playoff game afterwards. Football scores will be added to the golf score to determine the winner. The best part is the hot, delicious bowl of chili while watching the game. The cost will be just $15 and includes green fees, cart and the bowl of chili.

Mark it on the calendars to make an appointment to golf. Make it a weekly thing to do with friends or co-workers for a little bonding on the course. Golf is a treat no matter what time of year, and if you work at Tinker, you can golf at Tinker, so get outside and play golf Tinker!
