Tinker National Test Center opens on Rose State campus

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Tinker-sponsored National Test Center opened last month on the Rose State College campus, becoming the 117th center Department of Defense-wide. At a base-sponsored NTC, the institution provides the staff and technology for the administration of the College Level Examination Program, the Dantes Subject Standardized Test and the Excelsior College Tests.

The National Test Center is a win-win situation because the institution already has a computer lab and the utilization is maximized. Servicemembers pay nothing and receive their scores instantly, providing greater planning flexibility. Additionally, civilians and contractors can test on a self-paying basis.

The National Test Center has the capability to administer electronic test where as the on-base Education Center Testing office could only offer paper-based tests. The paper-based tests are slated to be phased-out soon. The National Test Center also provides greater scheduling flexibility offering test appointments at 9 a.m. or 2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Scores are automatically sent to Community College of the Air Force for the current enrollees at no costs to the student. Students desiring to send initial free test transcripts to their civilian institutions need to know the home campus location for CLEP tests or the school code for DSST's.

Test appointments can be scheduled by calling 733-7320. The National Test Center is located on the Rose State campus in the Student Services Building.
