New softball fields

Manny Sandoval, with the A VQ-7 Rough Necks, sets his sights on the ball Aug. 8 as his team battled back through the losers bracket to win the 2017 Rec League softball championship on base. Meanwhile, as the softball season ends, all four fields will be getting makeovers to improve ease of play and player safety. The Oklahoma Gas & Electric Tinker Power Plant outside Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, stands ready to begin power generation following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Feb. 19, 2026. The plant will be able to grow with Tinker, allowing additional generation units to be added as needs change. This will be essential as Tinker AFB grows its KC-46A tanker maintenance campus and begins construction on the bomber campus that will be home to B-52 modernization workloads and the sole depot maintenance facility for the upcoming sixth generation bomber, the B-21 Raider. Air Force Sustainment Center Commander Lt. Gen. Lee K. Levy II gave remarks and expressed his thanks and appreciation for the continued partnership between the U.S. Army Medical Department's Veterinary Services and Tinker Air Force BAse during a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled Veterinary Treatment Facility July 17. The vet clinic has extended its capabilities of care to be able to perform anesthetic procedures as well as placing catheters and monitors. OC-ALC Change of Command

Air Force Sustainment Center Commander Lt. Gen. Lee K. Levy II presided over the change of command ceremony for the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex at Bldg. 9001 June 16. Maj. Gen. Mark K. Johnson relinquished command to Brig. Gen. Tom D. Miller, previously the vice commander of the AFSC. Miller will lead a 9,800 personnel team responsible for $3 billion in revenue. The complex performs programmed depot maintenance on the KC-135, B-1B, B-52, E-3 and Navy E-6 aircraft, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul of F100, F101, F107, F108, F110, F117, F118, F119, F135, F137 and TF33 engines for the Air Force, Navy and foreign military sales. Miller will also be responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of Air Force and Navy aircraft components and the development and sustainment of a portfolio of mission critical software.
