Maj. Joseph Jones, a certified physician's assistant with the 72nd Medical Operations Readiness Squadron and a team lead for the sick call triage and treatment team, has served for 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to administrative paperwork, Jones' duties currently include triaging patients with respiratory and intestinal issues, and possibly COVID-19, versus patients with regular appointments and pharmacy customers. The Yuma, Arizona, native says the best part of his job is the people he works with and seeing the effect they have on the Tinker community by working together to get everyone feeling better.

Danny Bumb is currently serving as the 72nd Air Base Wing Plans and Programs Office’s Crisis Action Team manager during the COVID-19 crisis. Currently, the office is working on Tinker’s 30/60/90-day window and figuring out how to get the installation back on track when the curve is flattened. Bumb says the best part about his job “was apparent when COVID-19 hit and seeing that Team Tinker and the 72nd Air Base Wing can function at a level that is fluid. The 72nd Air Base Wing is a well-oiled machine and as soon as it hit, we went to work, working at a high-level during this crisis.” He’s originally from the Oklahoma City area, was active duty Air Force for 20 years and has been a civilian employee for four years.

Danny Marler is a civilian police officer assigned to the 72nd Security Forces Squadron. He is from Choctaw, Oklahoma, and enjoys fishing and golfing in his free time. His main duties include securing the base, perimeter and aircraft on the installation. During COVID, he says the gates have less traffic with so many people teleworking, which helps minimize contact during this time. The best part of his job is the interpersonal aspect and there’s something different every day.

Cody Agee, an aerospace propulsion craftsman and quality assurance specialist in the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex’s 76th Propulsion Maintenance Group, is currently managing the group’s COVID-19 social distancing and public awareness activities, reorganizing common areas and educating the workforce on sanitization and social distancing measures. His hometown is Bauxite, Arkansas, and he has served in the Air Force for eight years. When not at work, Agee enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking and also enjoys building carpentry projects with his wife.

Chris Johnson has been a junior cook at the Vanwey Dining Facility for 11 years. Some of his favorite things to make are egg sandwiches, burgers and omelets. In his time off, he likes hanging out with friends and going to the gym. Johnson likes working at the Vanwey because of all the nice people he works with and meets.

Beverly Stewart has been working on base so long she can’t remember exactly when she started out here, but it’s been about 25 years. She started working at the Tinker Club and now works part time cooking and serving food at the Tinker Bowling Center. She is able to help out at the bowling center more now because her regular job is closed due to COVID-19. Stewart said she enjoys the time she gets to spend with her co-workers and loves getting to interact with base personnel.

Capt. Audrick Yee writes down information from a patient who had signs of allergies or other upper-respiratory symptoms in the 'sick tent' set up in the front entrance of the 72nd Medical Group clinic. A sick tent has been installed at the front entrance of the 72nd Medical Group clinic. Medical personnel ask each incoming patient several questions to determine their path for medical care. If an individual is suspected for COVID-19, symptomatic or not, they are asked to stay in their vehicles while medical personnel dressed in containment gear asks them more extensive questions. If an individual is experiencing allergies or other upper-respiratory symptoms, they will enter a bay in the sick tent to be further evaluated. The 72nd Medical Group Pharmacy at the 72nd Medical Group is currently requiring patients to utilize their drive thru for all pharmacy services. This includes picking up previously activated prescriptions, previously called-in refills, activation of electronic prescriptions, drop off of written prescriptions or if a doctor has sent a prescription to the pharmacy. After checking in at the drive-thru, patients may be directed by pharmacy personnel to the overflow area in the parking lot located directly behind the drive-thru.
