Airman 1st Class Grace Brown has served in the U.S. Air Force for less than a year and works as a customer support journeyman in the 72nd Force Support Squadron Military Personnel Flight in the CAC/ID Office. Originally from Hillsboro, Ohio, Brown likes theater and making music, playing instruments and singing. Brown’s main duty in her job is verifying customer’s information and making sure it’s up-to-date. Brown says her favorite part about her job is being able to relieve the stress from other people by making sure they’re taken care of.

Piles of metal debris accumulated in a cedar-filled area on Tinker's southeast perimeter from the May 8, 2003 tornado. The 72nd Civil Engineering Directorate Natural Resources department hired a contractor to masticate the 40-acre area and another contractor to manually pick up the heavy debris that was found throughout the area and even in the trees. Pam Cowns serves as Tinker’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Coordinator. She has worked in the SAPR office for five years, but has also spent time as a program manager for the F101 engine, worked with the C21 program and served in the U.S. Army for 28 years, retiring as a first sergeant. Cowns is originally from Mustang, Oklahoma, but calls Midwest City her home. She loves spending time with her children and five grandchildren. The main focus of the SAPR office is to care for victims of sexual assault and explain the reporting options they have. The SAPR Office has had to make changes to events scheduled for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, but their office is still open through this pandemic and one full-time staff member is in the office every day. The SAPR hotline (405-734-7272) is also operational 24/7, manned by the five full-time SAPR staff. Cowns like helping people. Her main duty is controlling the entering and exiting of all vehicles and personnel onto the installation while working at the Tinker gates. Nelson says safety and security of the base’s personnel and installation’s assets are the most important part of her job.
