Honor flight

Air Force 2nd Lt. Josh Shepard, 76th Propulsion Maintenance Group, was an escort to World War II Navy veteran Robert Summers, Norman, during the ceremony at the Rose State Performing Arts Center. Mr. Summers, who also retired from Tinker civil service in 1983 after 35 years, had to get his mother’s permission to join the Navy in 1944 as a 17-year-old; he became a motor machinist mate third class.
