Tinker Frontlines: Meet Drew Stussi

Drew Stussi, site safety and health officer for Flintco, LLC, has worked for a year and a half on the KC-46 two-bay hangar project on the south side of base.

He loves the outdoors-hunting, fishing and spending time at his family's lake house.

He says COVID-19 has “upped the ante” on safety practices on the KC-46 work site. He and his company have added hand-washing stations, along with the hand sanitation stations already in-place. Face coverings are mandatory and they utilize 6-foot social distancing as much as it allows. They have their trade partners give them a daily report of the wellness status of their employees to make sure the site is healthy. They’ve also eliminated large gatherings for meetings by either reducing down to just the foremen or by teleconferencing.

Stussi says the best part of his job is interacting with people. “It is a joy to keep everybody safe, but also a joy to get out and get to know people on a personal level in an effort to keep the job moving forward and being successful,” he said.
