The purpose for this Membership Drive is to gain new and engaging members who are interested in promoting comprehensive unity in the workplace. To become a member of any of the below listed councils, you do not have to identify with the population. You can merely just have the desire to serve as an ally for the population. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Council - The mission of AAPIHC is to celebrate cultural diversity by raising awareness and encouraging the continuous development of Asian Pacific Americans while building a longstanding partnership with the community. Black Heritage - The Black Heritage Council operates on Tinker Air Force Base with the consent of the 72 ABW installation commander. The BHC facilitates the cultural, educational, social, and history of the African American community here on Tinker. Federally Employed Women -FEW is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, organization of Federally employed women and supporters that was founded in 1968. FEW seeks to eliminate sex discrimination in Federal government, enhance opportunities for women’s career advancement, establish and maintain positive relationships, advocate the application of EEO and personnel laws and policies work to improve the quality of life for women, and work to achieve a unified, diverse membership that values and capitalizes on similarities and differences at all levels of the organization. Hispanic Latino Heritage Committee - The purpose of the Hispanic Latino Heritage Committee is to conduct cultural and community events in recognition of Hispanic Heritage observances at Tinker Air Force Base. Tinker Disability Council - The TDC is a newly formed Council seeking allies and members of the disabled community. The TDC is about empowerment and acceptance for all members, civilian and military. Tinker Inter-Tribal Council - The Council came into being and exists to foster action to improve conditions for Native American’s employed at Tinker AFB, with the objective of ensuring that the full potential of Native Americans within the workforce is utilized. Additional purpose of the council is to foster educational and professional growth of the Native American workforce, to ensure that adequate counsel and representation are readily available to any Tinker employed Native American needing benefit thereof, to cooperate and work with all non-native employees concerned and involved with the concept and principles of EEO, to strive for prevention and elimination of any discrimination because of a person’s race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, disability or political affiliation. Tinker Pride Alliance- The purpose of the Pride Alliance is to function as a social and professional organization established to enhance morale, espirt de corps, and cooperation between members by providing a network/support group for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) community and supportive allies that work on Tinker Air Force Base.
