The Installation Commander has directed a base closure effective 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, due to snow and unsafe driving conditions. Weather emergency essential personnel are expected to report for work as scheduled.
Starting at 6 p.m., only Tinker Gate and Gott Gate will be open for access.
The Installation Commander will continue to monitor conditions to determine an appropriate day and time to reopen the base.
Base personnel should continue to monitor Tinker AFB social media accounts, website, or call the Tinker Straight Talk Line at 405-734-TALK (8255) for updated status information. Personnel are reminded NOT to call Base Operations, the Tinker Command Post, or Security Forces for weather updates.
The Tinker Commissary will be closing at 4:30 p.m. today. The Commissary also recommends that any customers call ahead Saturday - Monday to make sure the Commissary is open before driving in to shop. They can be reached at 572-633-6050.

Get in the holiday spirt and let your creativity flow with the Tinker Library's Gingerbread House Decorating Contest.
Pick up your undecorated doll house from the Base Library to get started. All decorated Gingerbread House should be dropped off at the library's front desk between Tuesday, December 15th and Saturday, December 20th.
Judging will be Monday, December 22nd and prizes will be given away in each of the following groups: Adults: 12 - 17 / Children: 11 and under.
All Gingerbread entries will be displayed and must be picked up by Tuesday, December 23rd.
