The Tinker Library and its staff members provide many services and resources that enhance the quality of life for the Tinker community. The staff is continually adding to their services and programs throughout the year.

"Woof Tails is our library's title for a children's reading program, which is popular locally and nationally. This new and innovative program helps children develop better literacy skills and reading confidence, which will help them for the rest of their lives," said Sam Richards, reference librarian. These dogs help a person focus on a task such as reading because of their interest in interacting with them. They are a nonjudgmental companion and enhance learning.

The new "Woof Tails" program will be offered at 6 p.m. Thursday. Children will be able to read a story to Abby or Sadie, two dogs trained to listen.

To learn more about this exciting new program or to sign up for the next Woof Tails, speak with a staff member. Woof Tails is also scheduled to meet at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and at 6 p.m. Feb. 26. This program is scheduled to be held twice a month at the Tinker Library. Come by the library and sign up for Woof Tails.
