Airman Nelson, with the 72nd Security Forces Squadron, joined the Air Force in September 2019. She likes to read and spend time with her husband when she’s not on duty. Her main duty is controlling the entering and exiting of all vehicles and personnel onto the installation while working at the Tinker gates. Nelson says safety and security of the base’s personnel and installation’s assets are the most important part of her job. Ms. Kampmeyer, a child and youth program assistant at Child Development Center West, has worked at Tinker for a little over a year. She recently did an experiment called “Glitter Germs” with the children in her classroom to show them how important it is to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds to get all the glitter germs off. She’s also helping the kids adjust to a new normal by explaining why some of their friends aren’t at school right now and why the teachers wear face masks. The best part of her job is having conversations with the kids and seeing the world through the eyes of a three-year-old. Danny Marler is a civilian police officer assigned to the 72nd Security Forces Squadron. He is from Choctaw, Oklahoma, and enjoys fishing and golfing in his free time. His main duties include securing the base, perimeter and aircraft on the installation. During COVID, he says the gates have less traffic with so many people teleworking, which helps minimize contact during this time. A sick tent has been installed at the front entrance of the 72nd Medical Group clinic. Medical personnel ask each incoming patient several questions to determine their path for medical care. If an individual is suspected for COVID-19, symptomatic or not, they are asked to stay in their vehicles while medical personnel dressed in containment gear asks them more extensive questions. If an individual is experiencing allergies or other upper-respiratory symptoms, they will enter a bay in the sick tent to be further evaluated. The 72nd Medical Group Pharmacy at the 72nd Medical Group is currently requiring patients to utilize their drive thru for all pharmacy services. This includes picking up previously activated prescriptions, previously called-in refills, activation of electronic prescriptions, drop off of written prescriptions or if a doctor has sent a prescription to the pharmacy. After checking in at the drive-thru, patients may be directed by pharmacy personnel to the overflow area in the parking lot located directly behind the drive-thru.
